Rumors Point To Development Of Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Multiplayer

Following the rumors of an impending launch and the actual release, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered will remain a PlayStation 4 exclusive for a month. It will eventually make its way to the PC and other platforms on April 30. However, as the name suggests, this remaster only contains the campaign portion of the Activision first-person shooter. According to a noted Call of Duty insider, the multiplayer portion is still in development.

TheGamingRevolution, a well-known source of accurate Call of Duty leaks, shared these developments on Twitter. “My source is insisting right now that MW2 remastered multiplayer is still in development and is still being tested on”, they stated.

As such, TGR theorizes that the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered was a test to see the community’s response to the game. When exactly the multiplayer mode will arrive remains a mystery. However, due to previous statements from Activision, TGR does not expect it to launch alongside the PC release.

Of course, like all rumors, these are all unconfirmed. Activision and Infinity Ward have thus far said nothing to suggest MW2 multiplayer is on its way.

Modern Warfare 2 returns

The original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 launched in 2009 to much success. Bringing back the iconic John “Soap” MacTavish, players could engage in intense firefights and the controversial “No Russian” mission.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered gives the full campaign the modern treatment, with “high-definition visuals and the latest audio advancements.” Like most modern games, there are also plenty of bonuses available – if you have the cash. The Underwater Demo Team Classic Ghost Bundle will get you a UDT Ghost operator skin, two weapon blueprints, a charm, a finishing move, and an emblem of Ghost. These can also be used for both Modern Warfare and Warzone.
