Sam Raimi Confirmed As WoW Movie Director

It’s been a long time since there’s been any news on the Warcraft film, some fans even suspected that Blizzard had abandoned the project, but it was officially announced today that Sam Raimi of Spider-Man fame will be directing the movie.

This is strange timing for the announcement, especially considering that Raimi will not be starting work on the Warcraft film until after Spider-Man 4 is done with – it starts filming next year. So why couldn’t this big news wait four more weeks until BlizzCon? Perhaps Blizzard has a lot more to show at the upcoming event.
