In the latest video from developer miHoYo, we’re given a more detailed look at the abilities of Sangonomiya Kokomi, the latest character to join the Genshin Impact roster. Sangonomiya Kokomi is available through the new Genshin Impact banner, which is live in-game as of today, Sept. 21. You have a chance to acquire her through the Drifting Luminescence Event Wish, which runs until October 12. During this Event Wish, Kokomi has a massively increased drop rate.

Kokomi lives on Watatsumi Island, one of the new islands introduced with Genshin Impact Version 2.1. The island is cared for by the Sangonomiya clan, who are empowered by the will of a dead ocean god, Orobashi. Kokomi is the current heir of the Sangonomiya clan and therefore, the Divine Priestess of Watatsumi Island.

Knowledge is power

Kokomi is a genius strategist. Her tactical abilities have earned her the nickname of the Pearl of Wisdom. If you’d like to check out some of our strategies for maximizing her potential, you can check out our Kokomi guide here. She is a five-star Hydro-wielding character with a strong focus on healing. Her weapon of choice is a Catalyst, while her Utility Passive causes your swimming stamina to deplete 20% slower. Her regular Passive gives her a 25% bonus to healing, but a 100% decrease in her critical rate.

Kokomi’s normal attack is called The Shape of Water. It allows her to perform three consecutive ranged attacks. Alternatively, she can charge it to unleash an area of effect Hydro attack. If performed in the air, she’ll plunge toward the ground and deal area of impact Hydro damage. Her Elemental Skill, Kurage’s Oath, summons a bake-kurage to damage enemies and heal teammates.

Nereid’s Ascension is Kokomi’s Elemental Burst. It deals Hydro damage to surrounding enemies and covers Kokomi in a Ceremonial Garment. The Garment increases her damage based on her Max HP, along with causing her normal and charged attacks to heal allies. While clad in the Ceremonial Garment, Kokomi is more resistant to interruption, and she can move on water.
