This past week’s Inside Xbox event showcased a variety of third-party titles that will soon make the leap to the next generation of consoles with Xbox Series X, and that means PC gamers also get a preview of what is to come. One of those games is Bandai Namco‘s new action RPG, Scarlet Nexus. This fresh IP has that signature anime flair, so be prepared to slice and dice through plant mutants in the future.

Psychic connection

Set in the future, humans have unlocked their latent potential to tap into psychic abilities — just in time for mutants known as the Others to fall out of the sky hungry for brains. With the amount of mental energy all about, it is feeding time for these monsters. To combat the Others, Scarlet Nexus introduces us to a team of highly skilled individuals, the Other Suppression Force. These warriors have mastered their psychic abilities. Together with their physical prowess, the invaders better beware.

As Yuito Sumeragi, a new recruit to the Other Suppression Force, it is up to you to defend our world and “uncover the mysteries of a Brain Punk future caught between technology and psychic abilities.” Your talent with psycho-kinesis will serve you well. The world around you becomes your weapon as you lift, break, and throw everything around you at the Others.
