For Destiny 2 players, things are about to get more hectic come February 9. Bungie has announced the arrival of Season of the Chosen, the next big chapter for the space shooter. With changes being made to the usual formula, Guardians will hopefully have a different experience this time around. After all, if you are not having fun gunning down enemies hellbent on ending the world, then what is the point? Season of the Chosen will bring new activities to Destiny 2 as Bungie continues to tell its story.
The big headliner is that of Battlegrounds. This new three-player activity will face players against the Cabal. This particular legion of troops is under the command of Empress Caiatl, who just so happens to be the daughter of Calus. With it being a matchmade activity, it will hopefully see more players trying the mode out.
There will also be three new strikes, although two might appear familiar. The Devil’s Lair and Fallen SABER strikes will return from the first game. The brand new Proving Grounds strike will follow later on. The Guardian Games also make a return.
Engrams all around
As part of the Season of the Chosen for Destiny 2, Bungie has promised plenty of loot. Over 25 Exotic, Legendary, and ritual weapons will be up for grabs in this season. If you are looking for the new Exotic bow Ticuu’s Divination, be sure to jump in. The bow is part of Season 13’s pass rewards. As far as its perks, you can charge up several Solar arrows that will track your target to their doom.
Unfortunately, there will be no new Destiny 2 Crucible or Gambit maps in Season of the Chosen. It has been a long while since the Gambit mode received a refresh, while the Crucible could always do with more arenas of death.
As shared by Bungie earlier, the Season of the Chosen will change up how you progress in Destiny 2. Both XP and Bright Dust will be easier to earn, as weekly challenges will replace the old bounty system.
