Section 8 Clan/Stats Portal Revealed

SouthPeak and TimeGate Studios have revealed the clan and statistics portal for forthcoming multiplayer shooter, Section 8.The portal – which will go live at www.joinsection8.com/stats when the game launches in America next week – shows off statistics and leaderboards, as well as allowing full clan management. You’ll be able to create a clan, set up clan tags to automatically update, change your clan’s recruitment status and take a look at the statistics of applicants, establish clan hierarchies and manage your rosters, and toggle the ability to see the email addresses of your clan members for the purpose of co-ordination outside of the game itself. The stats side of the portal will feature over 50 leaderboards that aren’t present in the game itself and can be set to show the overall leaderboards or just the leaderboards within your clan, with categories including:Career Statistics (XP, Kills, Deaths, Destructions, Combat, Teamwork, etc.)”In a Life” Records (XP, Teamwork, Combat, Kills, Damage, Captures, Repairs, Defenses, Destruction)Gear “In a Life” Records (Assault Rifle, Shotgun, Knife, etc.)Badges (32x badges)Feats (16x feats)On top of that, you’ve got a community page tracking the top players and top clans (as well as continuously updated statistics for things like most popular map, most popular loadout, and the like) in addition to individual pages for players tracking over 100 statistics that can, again, rank you against players overall or players within your clan.Oh, and it supports players from all regions, and has mutally exclusive stats for each platform.Whew. Section 8 is a multiplayer-focused shooter for Xbox 360 and PC which feels a fair bit like Tribes. Check out our preview and keep an eye out for our review in the coming weeks. Sadly, the UK release has been delayed to 11 September, while lucky Americans will be playing it on 4 September, but if you’re desperate to give the game a whirl for yourselves a demo is available on Xbox LIVE.
