In the trailer, also released today, we see Lara coming face to face with nightmarish visions. Apparently, a poison known as the White Breath lies in wait deep in the jungle. Lara, known for sticking her nose in places it doesn’t belong, volunteers to the Path of Fear in order to claim it. However, she will be assaulted by violent hallucinations, forcing her to battle “familiar enemies and fallen friends.”

She equips some new gear for her journey. The Scales of Q outfit, which makes Lara look like she fell into a bag of greasy ropes, is available. Also at her side is the Grip of Fear axe, which can knock down enemies for a longer duration of time. Once equipped with the White Breath skill, Lara can send a cloud of hallucinogenic mist to confuse enemies and make them fight one another.

Howler Monkey

A new trial in the Croft Manor is also included, as well as some extra modes. Howl of the Monkey Gods brings a temple filled with puzzles to conquer and traps to avoid. The trial can be played on your own, or you can bring a friend for some co-op. You can also play prior tombs from the main campaign in score attack and time attack modes. These include Judge’s Gaze, Path of Battle, Temple of the Sun, and Howling Caves (what’s with all the howling?).

The Nightmare is available starting today. You can purchase the pack on its own for $4.99 USD. However, it does come included if you’ve purchased the $29.99 USD season pass. Be sure to check out our review of Shadow of The Tomb Raider.
