Toyama Silent Hill Creator New Game

Silent Hill creator teases new game with bizarre concept art

No word on bringing Norman Reedus on just yet.

It may not be anotherĀ Silent Hill, but whatever Keiichiro Toyama is working on might be the next best thing. Toyama is the mastermind behind the Silent HillĀ franchise and the founder of Bokeh Game Studio. This new studio, headed by Toyama, is only working on one project as far as we know. However, that one project seems to be a return to form for Toyama. In a new video highlighting the Silent Hill developer’s career, teases and hints to the game are made with new looks at some strange concept art.

The video, released yesterday by Bokeh Game Studio, goes over the long career of Toyama. He speaks aboutĀ Silent Hill, and how to him horror is “everyday life being shaken. Rather than showing scary things, it should question our position, make us challenge the fact that we’re living peacefully.” Apparently, this approach to horror will be the root of Toyama’s next game.

Hints at what we might see from Bokeh Game Studio

It’s no surprise that the creator behindĀ Silent HillĀ is looking to get back into horror. However, it’s the approach he’s taking that should scare some older fans. Concept art shown in the video provides a look at some of the monstrosities players may encounter.

Suffice to say, fans of body horror are going to love whatever Toyama has in store. A majority of the concept art shown is of twisted creatures with human features. One, for instance, is a human head with a massive tongue spilling out of its mouth. The creature seems to be supported by tentacles, and the rest of its human body curled up behind it, suspended in the air. Another much more detailed piece of art shows a woman’s face opening up. Strange limbs come out from the sides of her head, including some that look like crab legs.

While this first look at what’s coming from Bokeh Game Studio was fun, it’s likely going to be a while before we see a new game from the mind behind Silent Hill. Until then fans will have to be patient and wait, and maybe play some of the choice horror titles available on PC right now.
