Skydance Marvel Game Black Panther Captain America

Skydance Marvel game revealed to star Black Panther and Captain America in World War II

Dream team.

The upcoming Marvel video game by Skydance New Media has been revealed as a team-up story with Black Panther and Captain America during World War II. Announced today during the Disney & Marvel Games Showcase, the new project has yet to be named. The accompanying teaser trailer was itself also brief. We got a hint at what locations you may visit, along with some cryptic info.

It’s a bit odd that the game currently lacks a name, but we can parse some details from the trailer. The game, developed by former Uncharted director and writer, Amy Hennig, will take place in at least two locations. Visions of both Paris and the fictional African nation of Wakanda flash by to the tune of “We’ll Meet Again” by Vera Lynn.

While the game will focus on the Captain America and Black Panther team-up, there is more to it. Following the locations shots, we see Cap’s shield bearing a very clear scratch mark — something that could easily be done by Black Panther’s vibranium claws. Perhaps there is some tension before the partnership?

The Skydance Marvel project goes unnamed for now

There also appears to be two other characters thrown into the mix. Four words appear in the trailer: “King,” “Captain,” “Soldier,” and “Spy.” The trailer ends with all four characters in front of the aforementioned locations, with the line: “Four heroes. Two worlds. One war.” The two characters standing next to Black Panther and Captain America are believed to be Gabriel “Gabe” Jones, a member of the Howling Commandoes, and Nanali, who was queen of Wakanda during World War II.

While we are lacking some details on the unnamed game, we can speculate some. It’s easy to say that the game will likely take influence from the 2010 book, Black Panther/Captain America: Flags of Our Fathers. The comic stars the two eponymous heroes, who team up to stop the Nazi intercontinental ballistic missile program. Characters like Nick Fury (yeah, he’s been around for a while) and Red Skull make an appearance.

We’ll have more on the game as details come in. Hopefully, someone will tell us its name soon.
