Occupied Residence is the second mission in Sniper Elite 5‘s campaign. In it, you’re to infiltrate the chateau of Abelard Möller, a high-ranking Nazi official who seems to be the mastermind of Operation Kraken. Still, you might want to eliminate a particular target for a weapon unlock and extra XP. Sniper Elite 5 – Occupied Residence Kill List guide (Mission 2 – Friedrich Kummler)
Friedrich Kummler, your Occupied Residence Kill List target in Sniper Elite 5, can be found inside the chateau itself. The challenge requires you to crush him with one of the chandeliers.
Given that the mission’s main objective is in the chateau, you’re better off looking for the Workbench locations in the zone as you explore.
The third and final one (for the rifle) is in the cellar which is accessed via the dried-up moat. This is also an ideal entry point into the chateau, as opposed to the main gate which has a lot of guards.
Once you exit the cellar, you should be able to make your way to the ballroom. Sneak around and scan the officers for Kummler. He’s talking to another soldier, and it seems as though he doesn’t want to move.
Note: NPC scripts can be a bit wonky when they’re engaged in a dialogue sequence. Kummler ought to walk to the center of the ballroom, whereupon you can head to the second floor to activate a switch that drops the chandelier on his head.
There are a couple of alternative methods to finish this task in Sniper Elite 5:
- Cause a distraction that would make soldiers investigate (i.e., throw a bottle or have your character get slightly spotted). Once Kummler moves to the center of the room, shoot the chandelier’s winch to cause it to fall.
- Cause a distraction and, if you can get close enough to Kummler, press “C” for a non-lethal takedown. With Kummler incapacitated, carry his body and place it directly under the chandelier. Shoot the chandelier so he gets crushed.
Doing these actions will complete the Friedrich Kummler Occupied Residence Kill List task in Sniper Elite 5. You’ll receive the K98k (Karabiner 98) for your efforts.
