The best perks or skills to unlock in Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2

The only perk you’ll have at the start of the campaign is “Utility: Augmented” in the Mask and Recon tab, which enables the thermal vision for the camera. Later as you complete more missions and challenges, you’ll have extra points that can be used to unlock the best perks or skills in the game. I’ll outline my preferences below.

Mask and Recon

  • Utility: Everything – I’m not kidding. Just being able to ping the map (left CTRL) to see hostiles is a godsend when you’re exploring levels.
  • Movement: Everything – All the perks here are very helpful since you can move faster and hold your breath for longer periods.
  • Awareness: Combat Engineer (optional) – There are only a couple of occasions when you’d encounter minefields and, more often than not, you’ll probably see other entranceways.

Support and Stealth

  • Soldier: Everything except Double Magazine Holster (optional) – You can’t go wrong with having more regular and special ammo for your sniper rifles.
  • Infiltrator: Everything except Kevlar Suit – Just being to move around without making any noise makes traversal a lot easier in a stealth game.

Drone and Turret

  • Poison Drone: Everything (optional) – The perks here might be necessary if you need to complete certain challenges that require the use of the Poison Drone. Likewise, there might be challenges where you have to eliminate all hostiles, including heavy troopers. If you don’t have explosive/AP rounds, then you can use the Poison Drone instead.
  • Turret: Sniper – Turret Range and Turret – Silencer/Semi-Auto (optional) – As mentioned earlier, the sniper turret is gimped due to having a maximum range of 1,000 meters. Most Long Shot Contracts have enemies situated beyond that distance. Alternatively, the Semi-Auto perk is okay since there are a couple of moments in the campaign where Raven is beset by ambushing troops.

Equipment and Gadgets

  • Technician: Tactical Backpack (optional) – You’ll get more uses for gadgets that can be deployed (i.e., C-4 charges).
  • Gadgets: Luring Mine (optional) – This one lets your Gas Mine Traps lure nearby targets, quickly incapacitating them with ease.
