Valorant exploded onto the FPS scene when it launched into closed beta on April 7. Since then, players from the USA, Canada, and Europe have been glued to Valorant Twitch streams in the hopes of getting a beta access drop while hopeful players from other regions have watched in envy. Until now. On May 5, Valorant will extend its closed beta to three new regions: South Korea, Latin America, and Brazil.
Anna Donlon, the Executive Producer for Valorant, took to Twitter once again to share the welcome news for potential players in those regions. She also assured players in other regions that Riot Games is working as quickly as they can to include the entire globe in the Valorant experience.

New region details
The new data centers that are the heart (or maybe the veins is a more accurate metaphor?) of the endeavor will be located in Seoul, South Korea, Santiago, Chile, and Sao Paolo, Brazil. Donlon also said the Valorant team is desperate to get set up in Mexico City and include that region in the closed beta. However, infrastructure delays are holding things up, understandably, given the COVID-19 pandemic restricting people’s movements.
As for the other regions still left in the dark, Donlon does give a shout out to Oceania, Japan, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. It’s tough to wait, but, if you’re in those regions, take comfort in the fact that you were mentioned — that might mean there’s a plan to get you involved as soon as possible.
How to get Valorant beta access
If you’re in South Korea, Latin America, or Brazil and you’re hoping to get into the Valorant closed beta, here’s what you need to do:
- Create a Riot Games and Twitch account.
- Link your Riot account to your Twitch account.
- Once you’ve done those simple things, all you need to do is watch Valorant streams on Twitch. If you’re lucky, you will be rewarded with a closed beta access drop. Look out for a notification like the one below.
Likewise, all Valorant Twitch streams now have a chance to drop beta access, so you can watch whoever you like. Oh, and you also don’t need to watch multiple streams on multiple tabs because that won’t count towards your time watched tally. Watching one stream is fine. Once you’ve watched for a couple of hours, you’ll be eligible for a drop. Riot has said that the more you watch, the more likely you are to get a drop, just don’t forget to eat and drink.
