Star Citizen Alpha 2.6.2 now live for everyone

In time for the weekend, CIG has pushed Star Citizen Alpha 2.6.2 live.

This update mainly focuses on Stat Marine, one of the changes being that going prone or melee has been disabled due to “exploits”. This will be reenabled when fixed. Other new features include enabling the Mega map for multiplayer Arena Commander and Star Marine maps but not for Crusader or Area 18, and the Drake Buccaneer has been enabled for Arena Commander and Crusader

Widescreen resolution (21:9) support has been enabled and the menu and UI has been tweaked to work with that.

These are the main additions. The update (see patch notes) also comes with a load of fixes and the following notice from CIG.

Your launcher should show “2.6.2-521494” as the client version. It is strongly recommended that players delete their USER folder for the Live client after patching, particularly if you start encountering any odd character graphical issues or crash on loading. The USER folder can be found (in default installations) at C:\Program Files\Cloud Imperium Games\StarCitizen\Public.
