Whether or not there would be a beta for the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront has been a bit of a mystery, with many fans asking, but with no certain answer given. That is, until today, when EA confirmed that a beta will be coming in early October for PC via Origin.
This beta seems to have a fair bit of content on the way. You will see the following game modes:
Walker Assault on Hoth – This is a 40-player multiplayer battle that features Rebels and the Empire. What seems especially interesting here is that you’ll have the chance to play as two iconic characters: Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker.
Survival Mission on Tatooine – A Rebel friend and yourself must fight back against waves of Imperial forces.
Drop Zone – This is a brand new mode that EA hasn’t said anything about yet. Details will be available in the coming weeks.
As well, during the Star Wars Battlefront beta, the Star Wars Battlefront Companion experience will be available on the official website. This features the strategic card game, Base Command, and gives the opportunity to earn in-game Credits that unlock Star Cards, weapons, and more in Star Wars Battlefront.
If that wasn’t enough, the Companion experience also lets everybody check their game stats, customize their loadouts and appearance, connect with friends, and tells them when those friends are playing Star Wars Battlefront. On top of all of that, the Companion will even gather information on stats and progression so that you can see how you match up.
The Star Wars Battlefront Companion will be available prior to the official November 17th launch on Android, iOS, and on the web.
More info on when the Star Wars Battlefront beta will be happening as well as how it will be organized will be revealed in the coming weeks.
