Star Wars: The Old Republic Preferred Status Players get more action bars

I will admit that since SWTOR went free to play I have downloaded and reinstalled the game, well why the hell not, it’s a half decent MMO after all and I did enjoy it more than WoW when it launched last year. When the free to play version launched there were limitations to what was actually available to F2P gamers and the confusingly titled “Preferred Status Players”, some limitations are certainly more restrictive and irritating than others.

The SWTOR development team have been keeping a close eye on the comments from the the F2P community and today have decided to take action on one of the issues. A new patch is due to out next week and the main change for Preferred Status Players is the addition of two new free Quickbars, taking it to four in total. These had to be purchased previously.

Preferred Status Players who have already purchased the additional bars we assume will get some kind of refund, and additional information on how that will happen will come next week with the patch.

There have been more requests for additional feature such as increased Warzones from three to five per week and reduced the Cartel Coin temporary bind, as mentioned in the update,  but whether they get actioned in a final patch release remains to be seen.

Bioware do need to update their features chart though, it’s really not that clear what each model covers and it’s now a little out of date. Whether SWTOR can survive with the F2P changes, which do feel harsh with some expensive purchase options, still remains to be seen.
