Come one, come all, it’s time to empty your wallet into the money vacuum that is Steam. The digital games marketplace has a sale this week, and you can pick up a ton of choice titles, all heavily discounted from their full prices. This week, Steam is celebrating a group of four national holidays in Japan with its Golden Week sale. From today until May 6 at 10 AM PST / 1 PM EST, you can pick up a bevy of Japanese PC titles for cheap.
The Golden Week sale is one of Steam’s newer sales events. This years’ is only the third of its kind in the marketplace’s history.
Besides game discounts, Steam users can also take part in some of the activities that come along with Steam sales. Spend some Steam points on seasonal profile decorations that include a frame for profile pictures, background, and custom color theme.
What is there to buy during Steam’s Golden Week sale?
Of course, the point of a Steam sale is to pick up games for cheap, and the Golden Week sale is no exception. Just keep in mind that these are all Japanese titles, so if you were hoping to find any US made games on sale this week, look forward to the next sale instead.
That being said, some of these game deals are too good to pass up on. Death Stranding is heavily discounted by 60%, going from $59.99 USD to just $23.99 USD. Katamari Damacy Reroll has also seen a price chop by 67%, going from $29.99 USD to $9.89 USD. For NieR fans looking for something to play after Replicant, NieR: Automata is discounted by 50%, from $39.99 USD to $19.99 USD.
A suite of high-quality JRPGs is part of this sale as well. Every Yakuza game on Steam is currently on sale, including the latest release in the franchise, Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Strikers also received discounts. Now is definitely the time to pick up either of those titles and lose about 100 hours of your life.
