Steam Top Sellers week ending 7 May

This week was Prey‘s launch and it’s been held off the top of the Steam Top Sellers top ten by Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds. The battle royale genre is proving a hit and Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds has now been at the top of sellers list for seven weeks. The game has sold more than 2 million units with around 140,000 players playing daily. That’s a lot of sales and it’s certainly catching up H1Z1 and could become the most popular game in the genre eventually.

Prey only released on Friday which is why it would be unlikely to reach the top this week. Dawn of War 3 is now sitting firmly in fourth and GTA V makes a reappearance this week after a short break. Outlast 2 which was second last week has slipped down to tenth.

NieR: Automata is still doing well and manages to hold onto a top ten spot, as does Wildlands. Here’s the full run-down for this week.
