Stranded Deep Campfire Meat Night

Stranded Deep: How to light a campfire

Survival 101.

Surviving in Stranded Deep requires building structures, with one of the most useful of these coming in the form of campfires. One of the first available structures in the game, the campfire will help you stay warm during night hours and allow you to cook meat to avoid starving. This guide will show you how to construct a campfire in Stranded Deep as well as how to upgrade it.

How to light a campfire in Stranded Deep

Campfires in Stranded Deep require you to collect six sticks — four to build the campfire itself and two to create “kindling” so that you can light the fire. You can find sticks lying around on the various islands, but gathering them may take a while considering how spread apart they are.

To speed up the process, you can cut trees down using an axe, a stone tool, or a refined knife, which will leave behind several sticks to pick up. Although axes and refined knives have an advantage in terms of durability and chopping speed, a stone tool only requires a single rock to craft, so you may want to stick with that.

Upgrading the campfire

If you want to make better use of your campfires in Stranded Deep, you can upgrade them to one of four different variants. The first of these comes in the form of the Fire Pit, which you can craft using three rocks. If you wish to access the other three variants, you will need to craft the Fire Pit first.

The next upgrade, the Fire Spit, requires three sticks and a piece of lashing, and it can cook two food items at the same time. On the other hand, the Smoker upgrade lets you cook five food items simultaneously, and you can craft it using the same items as the Fire Spit. The final campfire upgrade in Stranded Deep, the Hobo Stove, can cook even more food items at once, although you will need to drag a barrel from a shipwreck all the way over to a Fire Pit to craft one.
