Super Street Fighter 4 moving from GFWL to Steam, but not with your DLC

On the eve of Ultra Street Fighter 4’s release, Capcom has revealed plans to move Super Street Fighter 4 from Games For Windows Live to Steamworks. Unfortunately, the Akuma is in the details.

Capcom outlines the steps you can take to move your save data over to Steamworks, whether you already have a Steam account or not. It should be noted that your GFWL game should still work in the near future, but yeah, your Windows version SSF4 discs may become useless in the near future, since the Steamworks transition involves redeeming a code and getting the whole game digitally on Steam.

And now the clincher. All DLC, free and paid, won’t carry over in the transition. Capcom did not indicate plans to allow this in the near future either, impying either there were technical limitations, or they can’t afford to do it. Sadly, it seems loyal Windows Street Fighter fans have to buy their DLC all over again.
