Techland Reveal More of Dead Island

Last year Techland revealed they were working on a new game called Dead Island and today more details have emerged on the title which will be coming to the PS3, 360 and PC later this year.
If you’ve not followed the game then zombie fans will be pleased to know it’s a new ‘zombie slasher’ that’s played in first person with a heavy focus on melee combat. No point shooting zombies when you can wrap a spade around their head which is far more enjoyable.
The game also features a co-op mode for up to four players and Dead island really looks to be folllowing the classic zombie movie scenarios, and if you’ve been watching the excellent The Walking Dead series on TV, then you’ll get the picture of what Techland are aiming for.
The game will feature RPG elements with character classes and there’s no standard weapons loadout, players have to use what they find and be creative to create enhanced weapons from found objects which could make this game very interesting.

The game is being powered by Techland’s Chrome engine which should bring the tropical island scenario to life very niceley as illustrated by the new shots below.
