The first five episode season of Telltale’s The Walking Dead is available for free at the Humble store for the next two days. Judging by the countdown it’ll stop being free at 10am (PST) on Saturday 9 September.
You’ll need a Humble account to claim it, but that’s free to set up. You also have to ‘link’ your Steam account to Humble.
Telltale get some justified stick these days, but the original season of The Walking Dead is one of their best releases. Most of that first writing team had left by the time Season Two came around, which goes some way to explaining the dip in quality between them. And hey, it’s free, so if you have any interest you may as well give it a try.
The first season even has a couple of traditional adventure game puzzles in it, incredible as that may now seem for a Telltale game.
