The Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep will be making a late-summer appearance on digital storefronts. Developer inXile Entertainment announced that the fourth entry in the long-running series is releasing on September 18 — months earlier than the console ports.
The Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep is a return to the series’ roots, according to inXile. The franchise has built a dedicated following over its thirty-plus year history, thanks to humorous writing and solid first-person dungeon crawling. Barrows Deeps will continue that tradition, allowing players to guide six characters through its dungeons.
Accompanying the release date news is an official beta. The beta is available to Kickstarter backers but is also available by pre-ordering the game’s Platinum or Ultimate editions.
