Best PvE Void Hunter build in Destiny 2
The way you’ll want to play this Destiny 2 Void Hunter build is to use your Super to tether adds. Once all the adds are tethered in one spot, throw your Vortex Grenade. You’ll get about 25% of your Super back, as well as Invisibility, Devour, Volatile Rounds, Void Breaches, and Orbs of Power by getting kills with your Void weapon and abilities.
In theory, you’ll constantly be Invisible, have Volatile Rounds, and Devour. You’ll also get your super back quickly. Overall, you’ll be an add-killing machine that’ll never die.
Best PvE Void Hunter seasonal perks in Destiny 2 Season of the Witch
While this Void Hunter build is always good, there are four Seasonal Artifact perks that make it incredible in PvP and PvE. Here are the necessary Void perks for the best Void Hunter:
- Void/Strand Siphon Combo – Combines Void and Strand Siphon mods into one.
- Elemental Orbs – Final blows with a Void weapon while using a Void subclass have a chance to spawn a Void Elemental Orb. Throwing the orb does damage and makes enemies Volatile.
- Elemental Embrace – Subclass elemental buffs grant you bonus recovery and damage resistance against combatant attacks of the matching element type.
- Elemental Munitions – Combatant final blows with Tangles or Elemental Orbs have a chance to drop Special or Heavy ammo.
In Season of the Witch, the big thing is elemental orbs. While this build survives without elemental orbs, it’s a fun addition to the build that’ll make fights entertaining, and you’ll get Special and Heavy ammo more frequently.

- Echo of Instability – Defeating targets with grenades grants Volatile Rounds to your Void weapons. +10 Strength.

- Echo of Devour – Picking up a Void Breach or an Orb of Power grants Devour. -10 Recovery.
Central to this Void Hunter build is going invisible with Vanishing Step and Stylish Executioner. Use these Aspects to protect yourself and set yourself up for combos.
Echo of Reprisal is key here as it allows us to get our Super back fast. From there, we’ll get Devour from Echo of Devour, Void Breaches from Echo of Cessation, and Volatile Rounds from Echo of Instability. This creates an excellent gameplay loop of defeating Volatile enemies, getting Devour from the leftover Void Breaches thanks to Cessation, and earning more ability energy from it all.
Best PvE Void Hunter Abilities

In all honestly, there are no mandatory abilities for this Void Hunter build except Deadfall. This build relies heavily on the Aspects and Fragments as well as the Exotic Armor and your choice of Void weapon.
Use whichever Super you want, but Shadowshot: Deadshot is great in any PvE situation as it has the lowest cooldown and lasts the longest. I like Triple Jump as it gives me extra wiggle room while traversing. Gambit’s Dodge is my preferred Dodge as it recharges my Melee which makes for more chances to become invisible. Lastly, Vortex Grenade is best for add clearing which is what this build excels at.
Best PvE Void Hunter Exotic Armor, weapons, and mods
- Exotic Armor
- Orpheus Rig – Provides ability energy for each target tethered by Deadfall anchors. Moebius Quiver has an additional shot.
- Weapons
- Any Void weapon, like Funnelweb, Le Monarque, and Commemoration.
- Mods
- Helmet – One Void Siphon, two Ashes to Assets.
- Arms – One Grenade Kickstart, one Firepower
- Chest – One Concussive Dampener and any subclass damage reduction mod
- Legs – One Absolution, one Innervation, one Insulation
- Class Item – One Reaper, two Bomber
Since this build focuses on your Super, Orpheus Rig is the best Exotic armor to use. With it, you’ll get tons of Super energy right after using your Super which means you can keep using it over and over. If you don’t have Orpheus Rig or don’t like it, Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk is a great alternative.
From there, the Le Monarque Exotic Void Bow pairs really nicely here as well as any Void weapon, like Funnelweb for example. You’ll also want a solid Void Heavy Weapon, and I recommend Commemoration.
For the mods, you’ll want Void Siphon to create more Orbs of Power on Void kills and Ashes to Assets to trigger fast Super regeneration on grenade kills. For the arms, since we’re using our grenades a lot, Firepower and Grenade Kickstart help regenerate and create Orbs of Power.
Chest mods are all about damage reduction, so put on whatever you like as well as Concussive Dampener to take less up close and personal damage. Absolution, Innervation, and Insulation reduce your abilities, grenade, and class cooldown, allowing you to access Invisibility more often.
Lastly, use one Reaper mod to ensure you get Orbs of Power and Bomber to reduce the cooldown of your grenades.
Best PvP Void Hunter build in Destiny 2
Void Hunters are great in PvP because of their ability to enter Invisibility with ease. Invisibility isn’t foolproof, but it does give you a window of time to surprise your enemies and come out on top.
Since Knucklehead Radar got a major buff, I’m going to highlight that Exotic in this build. With Knucklehead Radar, you’ll always have a radar on, be able to mark enemies and get a boost to airborne effectiveness. This all works really well while also highlighting Invisibility.

There aren’t any meta perks in Season of the Witch. The only switch I would recommend from PvE to PvP is to add Rapid-Fire Ranger. This perk allows you to weaken Guardians with rapid precision hits. Experiment with other perks to see how they perform, but nothing is essential for this build.
Best PvP Void Hunter Aspects and Fragments
- Aspects
- Trapper’s Ambush – Activate Quickfall to spend your melee charge and dive to the ground, creating a large smoke cloud on impact, which then dissipates. Targets caught in the cloud are weakened, and allies are made invisible. Your Smoke Bomb makes nearby allies invisible when it attaches to nearby surfaces or targets.
- Vanishing Step – Dodging makes you invisible.
- Fragments
- Echo of Leeching – Melee final blows start health regeneration for you and nearby allies. +10 Resilience.
- Echo of Persistence – Void buffs applied to your (invisible, overshield, and Devour) have increased duration. -10 Mobility.
- Echo of Dilation – While crouched, you sneak faster and gain enhanced radar resolution. +10 Mobility and +10 Intellect.
- Echo of Vigilance – Defeating a target while your shields are depleted grants you a temporary Void overshield.
For Aspects, we’ll use Vanishing Step often to turn Invisible. If possible, you’ll want to do this before enemies see you and when you are close to enemies. Trapper’s Ambush gives us another way to turn Invisible and it allows us to turn our allies Invisible.
Echo of Dilation works in conjunction with Knucklehead Radar to give us even more range and some great stat boosts. Echo of Leeching and Echo of Vigilance work well together as you’ll get full health and a Void overshield after getting a charged or uncharged melee kill. Lastly, your Invisibility lasts longer with Echo of Persistence.
Best PvP Void Hunter Abilities
- Super – Spectral Blades
- Any jump you want
- Dodge – Marksman’s Dodge
- Melee – Snare Bomb
- Grenade – Scatter Grenade
Spectral Blades is king when it comes to PvP Supers. You can use a Shadowshot if you want to control zones, but Spectral Blades will get you more kills.
Both dodges can be good here, and Vanishing Step gives you a unique dodge animation. I recommend Marksman’s Dodge to play more up close and reload your weapons, plus it has a slightly lower cooldown.
Snare Bomb is an insanely good melee as it can temporarily blind enemies which makes them easy targets and you can use it on yourself and teammates to go Invisible. I prefer Scatter Grenade to deal high single-target damage. If you want to control zones, use Vortex Grenade. I’ve heard good things about Suppression Greande as well if you want something quick and easy to secure kills.
Best PvP Void Hunter Exotic Armor, weapons, and mods

- Knucklehead Radar – Provides radar while you’re aiming. Enhances your radar resolution while crouched. Visually marks targets. Deals more damage to low-health marked targets. Provides a small benefit to the airborne effectiveness stat of all weapons.

- Helmet – Two Void Targeting, one Dynamo
- Arms – One Void Loader, one Void Dexterity

Knucklehead Radar is the Exotic of choice for this Void Hunter build because radar is super important to have in any PvP mode. You’ll always have your radar even while aiming, visually mark and deal more damage to enemies, and get a bonus to airborne effectiveness. If you don’t have or don’t like this Exotic, you can double down with Insivibility by having two dodges with The Sixth Coyote.
For weapons, I recommend having something for long-range like Hung Jury SR4 or Le Monarque that doubles as a solid way to one-tap enemies close to dying. For your other weapon, I recommend a Fusion Rifle or Shotgun which will work really well since you’re almost always going to be Invisible. If possible, run a Void weapon.
The best helmet Armor Mods for the best PvP Void Hunter are Void Targeting and Dynamo. Void Targeting helps your Void weapons hit your target and Dynamo gives you Super energy when using your class ability near targets.
For arms, you want to focus on targeting and reloading mods like Void Loader and Void Dexterity. Of course, if you aren’t using a Void weapon, replace these mods with Kinetic or whatever else. For chest, I recommend two Melee Damage Resistance mods to help you stay alive at close range.
Absolution reduces all your ability cooldowns, Recuperation gives you health, and Insulation gives you a reduced class ability cooldown which is important to give you more chances to go Invisible. For the class item, I recommend Reaper to get a steady source of Orbs of Power and Distribution to reduce all your ability cooldowns when you use your dodge near enemies which will happen often.
