Bethesda have announced the main voice cast for The Evil Within, and it’s got a fair few names you might recognise.
Topping the bill is Oscar nominee Jackie Earle Haley, who you might also remember as Rorschach from Watchmen. He’ll be taking the role of the game’s main antagonist, Ruvik. The protagonist, Sebastian Castellanos, will be played by Anson Mount – probably best known as Cullen Bohannon in Hell on Wheels. The third revealed cast member is Jennifer Carpenter, who you likely know as Debra Morgan (Dexter’s sister) on Dexter. She’ll be taking the role of Juli Kidman, Sebastian’s partner and the character you play as in part of the game’s announced DLC.
The Evil Within is a Shinji Mikami-directed survival horror game, in which two detectives are called to the scene of a mass murder. Upon arriving, Sebastian is knocked unconscious and awakes in a horrible nightmare world full of horrific creatures, where he’ll have to do the usual survival horror actions of “managing resources”, “running from horrible beasties”, and “shooting stuff.” I’m pretty impressed with what I’ve seen so far, so I’m rather looking forward to getting my hands on it.
The Evil Within is due out on 17 October.
