The Havoc Energy Rifle Drops Today In Apex Legends

Apex Legends New Weapon – The Havoc Energy Rifle

I wouldn’t have thought Respawn Entertainment would add new weapons to its recently released Apex Legends this early on. But hey, what do I know? The new gun – known as the Havoc – can function both as a close-quarters, rapid-fire pulse rifle, or use its beam for longer distance snipes. It was introduced via Twitter in a short vignette, with more details released on the game’s official site. Either way, you’ll surely be annoyed by the fact that you just got killed with a beam of light.

Short And Scrappy To Long Distance Zappy

One of the Havoc rifle’s most notable attributes is its ability to be modded. Picking up the select fire or turbocharger allow it to become a deadly tool to have when threats are immediate. This alleviates many of the worries of carrying both a shotgun and submachine guns. Or, I guess you could just pick up something like a Peacekeeper with all the mod slots filled and call it a day.

The Havoc can prove worthy in long-distance firefights with its singular beam. If you’re wondering about damage dealt, its description is listed “as one of the arena’s highest damage-per-shot weapons in auto-fire mode, and is the arena’s only hitscan weapon in charge beam mode.” This might come in handy against snipers using the Kraber or Longbow from a distance.

Another differentiating factor is that players can equip it with two hop-up slots instead of one, which is the default for the other guns in the game.

Firepower Frequency

It’s surprising to see new weapons coming to Apex Legends considering its limited time on the market. The game only released on February 4 – just over two weeks ago. The official release of the weapon might be in response to recent data mining efforts that revealed potential new Legends and weaponry. However, none of the reports (at least from what I’ve seen) have pointed specifically to the Havoc rifle. So, take that for what it’s worth. At this time, there’s no telling how the game will pace its update frequency or other additions.
