The Secret World will include a micro-transactions store

Funcom has revealed that The Secret World, which is due for release next spring, will employ multiple payment models.
While the game will feature a traditional subscription model, Funcom will also be combining micro-transactions to support the game’s operation via an in-game store.
The store will launch when the game launches and items for sale will be convenience and character customisation items. No items will give players an advantage in-game. Game balance appears to be an important factor for the development team so if you want to progress it’s going to be down to your skill at playing the game.
Funcom’s community manager Oliver Kunz also hopped on the official forums and added:
“We are very excited about introducing an in-game store already from launch. Being able to integrate the store into the actual design of the game pre-launch gives us opportunities you do not normally get when introducing a store after you have launched a game.”
Funcom are still to reveal their subscription pricing for The Secret World.
