The Sims Medieval Announced

The Sims series is going back in time to the medieval era in the newest Sims title.
Players will have a chance to build their own kingdom while also controlling a host of different characters from the era. Expect to see a wide range of people including Kings and Queens, Knights and Wizards as well as lowly peasants such as Blacksmiths and Bairds.
“The Sims Medieval offers a new way for players to experience The Sims which we hope fans will enjoy, and it features gameplay that fans of strategy and role-playing games will find appealing such as controlling an entire kingdom and quest-based gameplay mechanics” said Scott Evans, general manager of The Sims Studio at EA.
There will be a wide variety of scenarios and storytelling elements that players can unlock throughout the game including weddings, defending against evil forces and finding the fountain of youth.
According to EA,”Every quest plays out differently depending on which Hero Sim the player is controlling.”
Like previous Sim titles players will have the option to fully customise every character that enters the game including selecting their specific traits and flaws.
Daily responsibilities such as treating the sick, trading with other countries for exotic goods and also creating weapons/armour all feature in the day-to-day running of your medieval kingdom.
The Sims Medieval will launch on PC and Mac in Spring 2011, check out the first shots below:
