CD PROJEKT RED has announced a free DLC program for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for anyone purchasing the game and it will be available on all platforms. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt launches on February 24th, 2015 and the Free DLC program begins a day after on February 25th, 2015.
You do not need to buy the collector’s edition of the game to be eligible for this program and it applies to both physical and digital versions of the game. A pre-order is also not necessary to be entitled to this DLC program and you may be eligible to receive these extra gifts even after buying the game post-launch.
The DLCs will be released in bundles and the first 2 of the planned 16 DLCs, the Temerian Armor Set (horse armor included) and a Beard and Hairstyle Set for Geralt, the protagonist, will be ready for download on February 25th. The DLCs will consistently be published at two per week, every week, after the game’s release at no extra charge.
This ensures at least eight straight weeks of DLC bundles for The Witcher 3 and possibly more free or paid DLC bundles thereafter.
At the present moment, only four DLCs have been revealed which include the previously mentioned Temerian Armor Set, Beard and Hairstyle Set for Geralt, an Alternative look for Yennefer who is a female character in The Witcher series and finally, an additional quest called Contract: Missing Miners.
Co-founder of CD PROJEKT RED Marcin Iwi?ski has released an open letter with more details about the 16 Free DLC Program. More information on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt can be found at the official website here. Any instructions on how to download the DLCs on each platform will be given at a later date.
The hunt begins on February 24th, 2015 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 so be sure to pick up The Witcher 3 and all its free DLC when it’s out.
