Thief PC system requirements revealed – No AMD Mantle support at launch

Thief 4 - 5

With Thief being released this week, Eidos has whipped up a list of PC system requirements and supported features. We have mentioned in previous  posts that Thief would be one of the first games to support AMD’s Mantle but you’re going to have to wait for that I’m afraid.

The update on the Eidos page says:

As you know, THIEF will also be one of the first games to ship that takes advantage of AMD’s Mantle graphics API.

Which is then followed by:

We’re extremely proud of the work we’ve done with AMD to make the PC version of THIEF a stand-out, definitive experience although we have a little more work to do to accommodate all of these new PC-specific features – we are busy working on a patch to support AMD’s Mantle and TrueAudio technologies that is scheduled for March

Sadly no Mantle support at launch and hopefully they will make that March patch date.

Here’s what Eidos say is the best setup for your PC box of gaming goodness which includes PC only supported features.

System Requirements

Even with the advent of next-gen consoles, for many old-school fans, Thief will always be most at home on the PC. To ensure the best possible experience on the platform, we’ve teamed up once again with the pros at Nixxes, who previously worked on the PC version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution and last year’s Tomb Raider.
