It was inevitable 2K would return to the hit Bioshock series sooner or later and it appears the next game is in the works.
The news comes via an article from Kotaku’s Jason Schreier on Mafia 3 studio Hanger 13 which looks at the problems with the game and its troubled development at the studio. According to ‘sources’ discussing what’s going on at Hangar 13, a top-secret 2K studio right next to Hangar 13 is working on a title going by the codename Parkside. That game is a new Bioshock.

Hangar 13 has been envious of what’s going on next door according to sources who added, “The issue is that Parkside’s not ready for lots of people. They’re trying to be really smart about figuring out what the core thing is. They’re careful about not falling into the same problem every studio has, where they have too many people and nothing for them to do”.
What we can take away from this piece is that a new Bioshock is in the works, it’s still early days, and it’s powered by Unreal Engine. Hopefully we won’t have to wait until next year to find out more.
