Total War Warhammer Ii Warhammer 2 Silence And Fury Thorek Ironbrow Ogre Mercenaries Free Lc Flc Announcement

Total War: Warhammer II gets Thorek Ironbrow and Ogre Mercenaries for free

A big, fat, free update.

Total War: Warhammer II‘s The Silence & The Fury DLC was originally revealed back in June. We know that this Lords Pack DLC will have Oxyotl of the Lizardmen doing battle against Taurox the Brass Bull of the Beastmen. Then, the announcement trailer was showcased just last week. More news followed, such as free DLCs (or free-LCs) that will be made available as part of an update. That’s right, Total War: Warhammer II‘s final FLCs will have Thorek Ironbrow leading the Dwarfs, as well as the Ogre Mercenaries.

In the lore, Thorek Ironbrow is known as the Master Runelord of Karak Azul. In the campaign, though, he’ll lead a faction known as Ironbrow’s Expedition. He tends to provide buffs to other Runesmiths in his faction. Likewise, he has unique items such as the Klad Brakak and Rune Armor. He even has the Anvil of Doom as a mount option.

In battle, you can expect Thorek to cause fear to his enemies, all while using runic powers to make hostile spells backfire. As for the campaign, Thorek’s goal is to recover relics to help other Dwarfs. He may also combine various resources via the Anvil of Doom to create artifacts to augment his units.

Now, regarding the Ogre Mercenaries, these wandering behemoths have made their way from The Great Maw. Their camps can appear on the campaign map in areas where wanton destruction has taken place (i.e., battles or razing/sacking settlements). These monstrous mercenary troops include Ogres (maces and dual weapons), Ogre Maneaters (ogre pistols and great weapons), and Mournfang Cavalry. You can pay to have these units bolster your forces, but they’d leave once you’re unable to attend to their needs.

I’m excited about what’s in store. A couple of years ago, I wondered what Creative Assembly would do after introducing Gotrek and Felix (who could be hired by certain Order factions). Now, we’ve got Ogre Mercenaries that can be recruited by everyone in the sandbox campaign. This opens up new options down the line, such as the Ogre Kingdoms or even the Dogs of War for Total War: Warhammer III.

In any case, you can expect these two FLCs to go live once Total War: Warhammer II – The Silence & The Fury releases on July 14. You can download Thorek Ironbrow from Steam. Meanwhile, the Ogre Mercenaries come from Total War Access, and you can learn more from the official blog post.
