Trion Worlds has announced that its upcoming MMO, formerly known as Heroes of Telara, has been re-named to Rift: Planes of Telara.

The game, which is said to feature high quality graphics, is set in a fantasy world being torn apart by dimensional rifts. These rifts are triggered by the players, can occur at scheduled times, or can pop up spontaneously. These ‘dynamic events’ can result in changes across the in-game world ranging from minor changes to whole areas being altered, to new zones opening up.

Trion decided to rename the game to reflect the importance of these rifts.
