Cerberus quest battle and boss fight
The Cerberus quest battle and boss fight in Total War Saga: Troy – Mythos takes you straight to hell. You’ll be right in front of the gates to the Underworld which is guarded by Cerberus.
The three-headed hound of Hades starts at the far end of the map. Your main army will appear at the central path, and your expeditionary force spawns to the right. As soon as you move toward Cerberus, 2x Wretched Shades will appear from the left and right sides (the latter can be countered by your expeditionary force). Cerberus will also send the other Wretched Shades to your main army.
Note: Because the shades are spirits of the Underworld, they’ll be unbreakable and they’ll fight until all troops have been defeated.
After taking out the first set of opponents, head straight for Cerberus. Once you get close enough, the Spearmen of Elysium and Marksmen of Elysium will begin targeting you. Additionally, Giant Shades will appear on your flanks.
That’s not all because Cerberus also has the ability to summon Wretched Shades from time to time. It’s really up to you if you wish to beeline straight for the monstrous doggo or grind down the remaining hostiles.
In my case, I immediately advanced to limit all the losses that my regular units could suffer. Oh, and since I was using Penthisilea here, I had Bloodsworn units charge the beast. They’re more expendable since you only spawn them like an Amazon Waaagh! After Cerberus is downed, the quest battle will end and it’ll join your faction.
All right, let’s talk about your new monster’s capabilities in the next part of our Total War Saga: Troy – Mythos Cerberus guide.
