According to Eurogamer, the first game will be cunningly-titled “Part One” and will focus on third person combat. In development with EA’s Bright Light studio, the game will feature a brand new HD engine and is expected to release on PC, PS3, Xbox 360 DS and Wii in the autumn.

The game will follow Harry and chums as they run from the very naughty Lord Voldemort and his gang of Death Eaters, as well as a whole host of familiar – and unfamiliar – beasties from the books.

“The final Harry Potter adventure has given us the opportunity to make a darker and more action-orientated game than we have before,” said Bright Light’s Jonathan Bunney.

“We have built new technology specifically to allow us to prove that magic is a truly potent force and, in this game, players will need to use all their skills if they want to survive.”Nothing is known about Part Two yet, but stay tuned to IncGamers for more on Harry Potter.
