Ubisoft have revealed that the next installment to the popular Far Cry series will be released this year on November 18th for North America and November 20th in Europe. The game will be released on the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC.

Far Cry 4 will be set in a fictional Himalayan region called Kyrat which is being ruled by “a despotic self-appointed king”. The Executive Producer, Dan Hayes has said Ubisoft “wanted to take the franchise to the next level and create a game that will surprise and exceed fan expectations.” Ubisoft Montreal are leading the development for this game with the help of Ubisofts Toronto, Kiev and Shanghai, plus the folks behind Future Soldier, Red Storm.

We can expect to hear more about Far Cry 4 in June at E3 but you can expect Far Cry 4 to center around guns, vehicles, wild animals and crazy bad guys. You can pre-order Far Cry 4 from Ubisoft’s website and get a “free upgrade to the Limited Edition which includes Hurk’s Redemption, a series of three action-packed single-player missions featuring the popular character Hurk from Far Cry 3’s DLC. The Limited Edition also includes Hurk’s signature harpoon gun called ‘The Impaler’.”
