Ubisoft ‘formally announcing’ Assassin’s Creed 3 next week

Following on from the leaked images that suggest Assassin’s Creed 3 will be set during the American Revolution, Ubisoft has told IncGamers that they will be “formally announcing” the game on Monday of next week (5 March).
Our contact at Ubisoft wouldn’t be swayed into commenting on whether or not the American Revolution really is the game’s setting, but hopefully this Monday will bring such things to light.
Assassin’s Creed 3 in the final part in what was originally planned as a trilogy. However, following the success of Assassin’s Creed 2, Ubisoft decided to change their original plans and embark on a yearly release cycle for the franchise. That resulted in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and Revelations, both of which further explored the story of the second game’s Ezio Auditore.
The protagonist for the third game is as yet unknown.
