Epic’s Mark Rein has stated that Unreal Engine 4 will be revealed in 2012. “People are going to be shocked later this year when they see Unreal Engine 4 and how much more profound an effect it will have”, Rein has said.
More details are expected during the Design Innovate Communicate Entertain (DICE) summit that’s currently ongoing in fabulous Las Vegas.
Indeed, one such detail has already escaped. While speaking as part of a DICE awards ceremony, Rein said that the Unreal Engine currently runs on “PC, MAC, XBox 360, PS3, IOS, Android, WiiU, PSVita and some platforms we’re not allowed to mention by name yet”.
There may be more to come at the Game Developers Conference in March, where Epic traditionally shows up Unreal Engine-related stuff.
