Updated: Modern Warfare 2 Recalled In Russia

The Russian government has recalled copies of Modern Warfare 2 in Russia, after the airport massacre scene angered several Russian politicians, as well as many Russian gamers.

According to a Russian report as spotted on gameriot, the scene in question, which was leaked on the internet last month, features Russian terrorists rampaging through an airport, killing unarmed civilians. All console copies of the game have been recalled from retailers pending the release of the censored version which will have the offending mission removed entirely.

Infinity Ward has released an official patch for the PC and Steam versions of the game, which also removes the mission.Update: Activision has since told IncGamers that no console version of the game has been released in Russia yet.
