The PlayStation Vita gaming website Vita Player is rapidly gearing up for it’s sponsored 24 hour gaming marathon taking place on 2nd – 3rd May 2014 being held to raise money for the UK Video Games Industry charity GamesAid and is able to confirm more details of events taking place throughout the day.

Taking place during the period of 12:00 noon GMT on Friday 2nd and 12:00 noon GMT on Saturday 3rd May Vita Player’s site editor Simon Plumbe is aiming to play games on Sony’s handheld console continually, but also aims to play in excess of 100 different titles on the system and has opened up this challenge to supporters and game developers alike allowing those following his progress to nominate titles to be played. Games currently included in the schedule as well as a breakdown of the session can be found on the website.

As well as continual updates on the Vita Player website and Twitter account, large portions of the marathon will be streamed live on Youtube on the site’s channel and the first of these will commence just before 12;00 noon GMT on Friday.

For those wishing to make donations, these can be made online through JustGiving by credit or debit card or by PayPal by visiting JustGiving and text donations can also be made by gamers in the UK by sending the message GXGA60 £1 to 70070.

Finally, a number of competitions are being run throughout the day for those following Simon’s progress on Twitter and Youtube with a range of games and accessory bundles being offered. In addition, independent games publisher ImageForm has donated three copies of their latest release, SteamWorld Dig for the PS Vita and PlayStation 4, and these digital codes will be given away live during one of the sessions.
