The Walking Dead: The New Frontier (S3) begins November

The third season of Telltale’s The Walking Dead now has its own name and release window, thanks to details released during today’s PAX panel. The Walking Dead: The New Frontier will release the first of five episodes this November.

That new subtitle is a reflection of Telltale’s intent for this game to both continue Seasons One and Two, but also provide a starting point for people new to the series. In response to a fan query at the PAX panel, Telltale said that “Your [Season Two] endings will be represented in Ep 1, possibly further”. There are said to be plans in place for carrying save files over different platforms, but it’s not clear if this purely means, say, PS3 to PS4, or whether it could include more elaborate transfers like Xbox 360 to PC.

Aside from the name change and release window (no specific date was given for November), much of the information was restated from previous announcements and interviews. The New Frontier takes place around four years after the events of Season One (the game), Clementine will be returning and teaming up with series newcomer Javier. Players will be controlling Clementine and Javier at various points of the story. All stuff that has been mentioned previously.

A New Frontier will explore beyond what it means to survive in a world ravaged by the undead, and will see our characters confronting the new rules of order and justice in a land being brutally reclaimed and rediscovered by what’s left of humanity itself,” says Telltale’s Kevin Bruner of the upcoming set of episodes.
