This week the Nostalrius vanilla World of Warcraft server team dropped into Blizzard to meet with CEO Mike Morhaime.
This was the second meeting with Morhaime to discuss the proposition of official vanilla WoW servers following his meeting with Mark Kern. While we are not expecting a definitive yes or no decision from Blizzard at this stage, the meeting with Nostalrius apparently went well.
Nostalrius posted a quick update saying, “If they were to happen, there would be a lot of work involved to launch official legacy servers. We were amazed by the passion of everyone at the meeting for vanilla WoW. There is no official yes or no yet, more details next week. Meeting with Mike Morhaime and the Warcraft devs went well! We all had a great time.”
There’s not doubt this will be a decision that Blizzard won’t be taking lightly and hopefully more details will emerge next week. Still, good to see vanilla servers are still a possibility.
