Hickman starts off by assuring players that Mythic remains fully dedicated to its games and the people that play them. He also states that Mythic will continue to develop new Warhammer Online content, and that players should not notice a difference in service or performance as a result of the cuts:

“At Mythic, we remain committed to our games and the passionate people who play them – we’re going to continue to deliver the content and service that keeps you playing.” Hickman continued “We want to assure our community that we will maintain the same high level of customer support you’ve come to expect and continue to improve our games with an exciting schedule of patches, live events and new content.”

He goes on to mention other long-running games that Mythic still maintains including Ultima Online, a game that many see as the first real ‘MMO’. Dark Age of Camelot also gets a nod which, at eight years old, it’s still highly popular. All this comes after yesterday’s news that EA has slashed its workforce by 1,500 people, affecting EA Redwood Shores, Tiburon, Black Box and of course Mythic.
