Raven Software removes core Warzone modes in new playlist update

Changing the pace

Similar to many games in the battle royale genre, Warzone has a delivered a standard set of game modes such as solos, duos, and quads. Sometimes, limited-time modes and playlists are added into the mix to provide players with a unique experience. Regardless of the weekly playlist updates, the developers have always kept the standard battle royale modes in Warzone. However, the latest Warzone playlist update has removed the core solo, duos, trios, and quads modes.

Raven Software confirmed on Twitter that it has removed the core battle royale modes. These have been taken out in favor of buy back solo, duos, trios, and quads. In the past, the buy back mode has featured in Warzone, but it’s always been reserved for special playlists. In addition, Verdansk ’84 Payload has been added, and Rebirth Island Resurgence quads will remain in the rotation.

The Warzone buy back modes provide players with a different experience to the regular battle royale mode. This option usually caters to fans who prefer to engage in faster paced combat. If you die while having enough cash at your disposal, you can buy yourself back onto the battlefield. This means you need to actively go and search for cash to remain in the game. As a result, the Gulag is disabled from Warzone buy backs. Some players may prefer the fast-paced experience that the buy backs mode provides. However, understandably, many fans have been left frustrated, wanting the return of traditional playlists.

It will be interesting to see if Raven Software responds by adjusting the Warzone playlist update early. If not, your only option is to hop into the buy back modes. The next playlist update will take place on September 2, which is the earliest we’d expect to see the standard modes return to Warzone.
