Cannibal Jamboree is one of the zones in Wasteland 3. Here, you’ll obtain the Head Hunter that takes you to multiple locations including Knox Bison Ranch. The reward is a full suit of Power Armor.
Cannibal Jamboree is northwest of Colorado Springs. You’ll know you’re close when you hear someone asking for help because people are trying to eat them.
Wasteland 3: Cannibal Jamboree and Knox Bison Ranch
Once you enter, you’ll be greeted by friendly cowboys who’ll invite you to a “barbecue.” You can attack the entire camp now and not bother starting the Head Hunter sidequest, or you can continue onwards.
At the campfire, you can speak with Rollan Giff:
- If you reply in an incredulous manner, there will be hostilities but you can use Hard Ass 8 for an advantage.
- Instead, say “we just ate,” followed by Kiss Ass 8. Rollan will then tell you about five runaways that you need to bring back. This is the Head Hunter sidequest.
Note: If you attack the cannibals now, you won’t get the Power Armor even if you look for it in Rollan’s workshop.
The runaways
Earline – Colorado Springs market square; Kiss Ass 6.
Alfredo Garcia – The Bizarre Interior; Hard Ass 1.
The ranchers
The other three runaways — Larry, Darryl, and another Darryl — are found in Knox Bison Ranch. The location will appear once you’re close to the area (just north of The Bizarre).
Note: It seems you’ll need to complete the Aspen main quest and deal with Vic Buchanan first. That’s just to make the Knox Bison Ranch appear once you travel near it.
The ranch leader will ask for your help to kill the Scar Collectors. Then again, you could side with the bandits and kill the ranchers instead. Kiss Ass 9 yields meat rewards while Animal Whisperer 9 even nets you a bison pet.
In my case, I just killed the bandits.
Once they’re dead, the ranch leader will thank you. If you have Animal Whisperer 9, you can be given a bison pet as long as you kill some vermin.
The vermin are actually toads found behind the ranch. Before we go there, head to the farmland. You’ll see the two Darryls here.
They’re not planning on leaving, so just choose “attack.” Kill them and take their heads.
Anyway, head to the dirt path on the left side. There are traps (Explosives 8), and you’ll spot the toads a bit further back.
Pick up the loot which includes a Quick Quaid creepy doll.
You’ll also notice Larry’s grave where you can take Larry’s Head (quest item).
Go back to the ranch leader to complete the task and get your bison.
Return to Rollan in Cannibal Jamboree and tell him you’ve completed your objectives. He gives you the key to his workshop which has a full suit of Power Armor and the Purifier flamethrower.
If you want, you can start killing all the other cannibals here. Your haul will eventually include a Skullcap Helmet, and the Goat Cannon and Turbocharger Kodiak upgrades.
