You have to sympathise with gamers who are still experiencing Watch Dogs issues on the PC. Despite problems still persisting with Uplay, Ubisoft decided it would be a great time to tell the world that the Watch Dogs sold “more copies than any previous title in Ubisoft’s history”.
“Watch Dogs is an amazing achievement and our teams should be proud that the creativity, innovation and long hours they invested in making this game are paying off,” said Ubisoft’s co-founder and CEO Yves Guillemot. “It’s great to see so many customers enjoy playing the game, and it shows that Watch Dogs has cracked the code for developing a new blockbuster IP and a thoroughly new-gen experience.”
Indeed Yves. There are many customers enjoying the game but there are still many who are yet to get the game to perform as intended. UbiSoft’s Twitter support feed has been quite busy with Uplay problems. It always seems to be Uplay that hampers smooth launches for Ubisoft. The servers have once again been iffy this evening with the latest post stating:
“We’re continuing to see improvement in our online services, however intermittent issues remain. We’re working to resolve this, stay tuned.”
2013 wasn’t a great year for game launches, Battlefield 4 springs to mind, so let’s hope that publishers can start getting their act together and launch games without annoying technical problems for customers.
Also, please stop trying to raise the hype and hoodwink customers with unrealistic demos if games at trade shows. Many PC gamers were keen to play Watch Dogs based on what was shown at E3 last year in that amazing video. Sadly the final game didn’t quite live up to gamers’ visual expectations as you can see below.
