In Remnant 2, Blood Moon Essence is a currency that you can only use at the Bloodmoon Altar. However, if you’re struggling to know how to get Blood Moon Essence, you need to go to Yaesha and look to the sky. Blood Moon Essence is small, purple orbs that float around the trees.

To get Blood Moon Essence, you need to shoot the purple orbs. After shooting the orb, the Blood Moon Essence will automatically enter your inventory. You get one Blood Moon Essence for one purple orb shot.

In my experience, Blood Moon Essence is only found in Yaesha areas. Some areas have no Blood Moon Essence while others have a lot. For instance, the first area I got in my Remnant 2 campaign was The Withering Weald in Yaesha. As I progressed through this giant area, in which I figured out how to get past the giant bird, I found a few Blood Moon Essence orbs. However, in other Yaesha areas, I didn’t find any.

In general, you’ll find Blood Moon Essence on Yaesha levels that have trees and the open sky above. If you’re in a Yaesha level with a building or enclosed structure, you won’t find Blood Moon Essence.

Once you have Blood Moon Essence, you can spend the resource at the Bloodmoon Altar. If you haven’t found the Bloodmoon Altar, you can find it next to the Root Nexus boss. If you’re sneaky, you can use the Bloodmoon Altar before defeating Root Nexus, but I recommend defeating the boss so you can focus on the Bloodmoon Altar and return here to craft new stuff after collecting more Blood Moon Essence.

There are some really great items you can craft here at the Bloodmoon Altar, but all of them take Scrap, Blood Moon Essence, and sometimes even Lumenite Crystals. I recommend crafting the armor first as it is better than the starting stuff. If you’re fairly far into Remnant 2 when discovering the Bloodmoon Altar, then consider crafting the charms and relics as they are really powerful, especially for lifesteal builds.
