Where to find Chaos Malachite to evolve Mortaccio in Vampire Survivors

Malachite: Helps bones grow stronger.

Weapon evolution has always been a core element of Vampire Survivors, but it wasn’t until Patch 1.3.0 that the game’s first character evolution was introduced. Using a new Relic known as the Chaos Malachite, you can now evolve Vampire Survivors’ playable skeleton Mortaccio into a more powerful form. Knowing where to find the Chaos Malachite needed to evolve Mortaccio in Vampire Survivors is not immediately obvious, however, and will require quite a bit of digging on your part.

Or, you could let us do the digging for you, and read on to discover our full guide on where to find the Chaos Malachite, and how you can use it to evolve Mortaccio, in Vampire Survivors.

Where to find Chaos Malachite to evolve Mortaccio in Vampire Survivors

Step 1: Head to Bat Country

The first thing you’ll need to do is head to the game’s new Bat Country challenge stage. If you haven’t unlocked it yet, you can do so by reaching level 80 with any character in the Inverted version of the Mad Forest stage.

Once inside, you’ll find that Bat Country is a very unusual stage, both visually and mechanically. As expected, all the enemies are bats, but what’s not so expected are the psychedelic background details, which evoke classic 2D Sonic games. The stage gives the player a -75% experience penalty, which means that your level growth will be slower than usual, but it balances this out by featuring incredibly dense swarms of bats, so you shouldn’t need to adjust your playstyle much to do well here.

Step 2: Survive until the 18-minute mark

The Chaos Malachite Relic you’re looking for won’t appear until you reach the 18-minute mark in the stage. Once you do, a cluster of coloured blocks will appear near your character, with the Malachite at its center. A green arrow will then appear to show you where to find the Chaos Malachite, the tool you’ll need to evolve Mortaccio. Use your weapons to chip your way through the block cluster, and you’ll be able to grab the relic within. After that, simply finish the stage and the Relic will be yours!

Step 3: Try out Mortaccio’s new form!

Now that you have the Chaos Malachite, you can evolve Mortaccio in any given run by reaching level 80. Once you do, he’ll gain a large new sprite based on the Goshadokuro enemies in the game as well as a new form of attack. He’ll even get some juicy boosts to his Armor, Amount, and Max Health stats. It’s a much more powerful variant of the character, balanced out by the fairly challenging requirement of reaching level 80.

Now that you know where to find the Chaos Malachite, and how you can use it to evolve Mortaccio, you can make proper use of a Vampire Survivors character who, previously, was little more than a fun extra!
