Windows LIVE Games on Demand Coming

Microsoft has announced that the Games for Windows LIVE Games on Demand Service will shortly be launching.Microsoft is about to enter the digital distribution fray with the launch of its new service, Games on Demand for Windows. Games will be purchasable and available for download at any time and you’ll also be able to reinstall games. To get the service kicked off, titles will include Resident Evil 5 (Capcom), Red Faction: Guerrilla (THQ), and Battlestations: Pacific (Eidos), as well as  LIVE-enabled versions of World of Goo and Osmos. “With Games on Demand, we didn’t just want to create a cut-and-paste version of existing digital distribution services,” said Mike Ybarra, General Manager of LIVE Engagement Services.“We challenged ourselves to deliver an integrated platform that takes full advantage of the unique capabilities offered by the LIVE service. Our goal has always been to create a seamless online gaming experience for the Windows community, and Games on Demand is a great step toward that end.”The download service will launch on 15 December.
