The Witcher: Battle Arena bringing Geralt to mobile MOBA

CD Projekt RED have revealed their 1st mobile excursion for The Witcher franchise, and it’s a genuine surprise. Introducing The Witcher: Battle Arena.

The Witcher: Battle Arena is a MOBA with simplified elements to adapt it to mobile. Gone are the farming elements of a DOTA or League of Legends. It’s all about the battles, with brief breaks to return to base and upgrade items. Respawns are quick, making entire games take very quickly to finish, well, for a MOBA.

CD Projekt RED being who they are, they have promised there are no pay-to-win elements in the game, nor will there be anything that you will be required to buy with your actual money.

Monetization comes in with skipping the grind to get items and heroes faster. There will also be vanity items which will look nice, but won’t have a significant effect on gameplay. In essence, and as CD Projekt RED themselves argue, this is a free game.

The Witcher: Battle Arena is coming to Android, iOS, and Windows app stores Q4 of this year.
