CD Projekt Red might be dealing with problems of the future, but there is no doubting the quality of its previous work, The Witcher 3. The masterpiece that brought Geralt the Witcher to the consciousness of the mainstream has no doubt etched its way into the annals of gaming history, but that is not all there is to it. Netflix’s adaptation starring Henry Cavill has also been well received, with a new season set to come in the future. While an on-set injury to Cavill may have delayed productions, there are also other related projects to look out for. One of them is the Witcher animated film Nightmare of the Wolf, which now has an official logo.
The reveal follows after several days of #Witchmas. The live-action show is celebrating its one-year anniversary, and this new logo reveal is part of the proceedings. First announced at the start of the year, the film will likely give more context to the history of the monster slayers known as the Witchers. The School of the Wolf, where Geralt and his mentor Vesemir hail from, will be the focus. It’s fitting then, that the logo is that of a spooky wolf.
Chomping at the bit
The Witcher animated film Nightmare of the Wolf will be helmed by South Korean studio Mir. If they sound familiar, it is because they were responsible for the stellar Legend of Korra and Voltron: Legendary Defenders. Linking it all together would be Lauren S. Shissrich, the current showrunner for the live-action series.
If the Netflix Witcher series and the animated film Nightmare of the Wolf are not enough for you, rest easy. A prequel series is also in the works. The Witcher: Blood Origin was announced back in July as well. That will take place 1,200 years before Geralt even existed. Time to brush up on that history.
